190th Cadet Wing

The 190th Cadet Wing is the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) detachment at the Urbana-Champaign campus and Parkland College. The detachment is located in the southwest corner of the Armory. The program is typically four years long and culminates with a commission as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force shortly after graduation.
Like the other services' reserve officer training corps, cadets of Det 190 wear their uniforms to classes on Thursday. The Air Force cadets undergo physical training (PT) early Tuesday and Thursday mornings on the Armory floor or outside, participate in a leadership laboratory Thursday evenings, and optional practice Sunday evenings.
The current professor of aerospace studies is Colonel Michael Retallick.
