Route and Stops
The route starts at the Six Pack in front of the soon to be Stanley O. Ikenberry Hall. The bus goes east on Gregory, turns left onto Fourth and up to Armory. Here the bus makes a right turn for its first stop at the Armory. Some lazy students from the Six Pack feel the need to pack onto the bus and waste everyone's time by only riding the bus two blocks to this stop. Next, the bus continues along Armory to the Main Library at Armory and Wright. The bus then turns left onto Wright and goes north to the Transit Plaza. Here is where many students get off the bus. Next, the bus continues on Wright, passing Green Street and stops next to Everitt Lab. From there the bus goes up to the intersection of Wright and Springfield making another stop. Then the bus proceeds to make a right turn on Springfield heading east. The next stop is at Grainger Library.
The route continues east to Goodwin where the bus then turns right, heading south. The bus makes a stop right after this turn and later another stop on Goodwin and Green. Following this, the 26 continues south past Illinois St. and stops in front of Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. The bus then passes Oregon and makes another stop at Goodwin and Nevada. The 26 heads further south and makes a stop at Goodwin and Gregory, near Freer Hall. The bus then turns right heading along Gregory. Along the way, the bus makes a stop at the Institute for Genomic Biology and the Main Library. At Fourth St, the bus turns left and heads south making a stop at Flagg Hall. At Peabody Dr, the 26 turns right heading towards the Activities and Recreation Center for its next stop. Once at First St, the bus turns right, making its final stop in front of Forbes Residential Hall. After this stop, the bus loops around the top of the Six Pack, heading back to Stanley O. Ikenberry Hall.
Usefulness
The 26 Pack is most useful for students living in the Six Pack. Students often claim the name '26 Pack' means 'To Six Pack.' However, the 26 is more useful for students living in the Six Pack dorms which are closer to the first stop at Ikenberry Hall. This is because once the buses reach this stop, the driver will stop the bus and sit there usually for about 5 minutes. Sometimes up to three buses will be stopped at this location at once. This makes it more convenient for students living in dorms like Snyder, Weston, and Garner, which are closer to Ikenberry Hall. For the students living in Scott, Hopkins, and Forbes however, sometimes they must wait a long time for the 26 to arrive at their stops because all the buses are piled up at Ikenberry Hall.
Service
The 26 Pack offers service during Fall and Spring semesters on weekdays. There is no 26 Pack service on Saturday and Sunday.
