Altgeld Hall. Large version.

Altgeld Hall is located at 1409 West Green Street in Urbana, near the corner of Green Street and Wright St. Built in 1897, it is currently home to the Department of Mathematics, the Mathematics Library, and a mailing substation for Urbana is also located inside the building. A prominent feature of Altgeld Hall is the University Chime which marks the hours, half hours, and quarter hours. The bell tower also plays a ten minute concert every school day at 12:50 PM. Something very noticeable about the building is its eccentric architecture. Additionally, the interior of the building is very confusing and difficult to navigate with several different levels and observable discontinuities.
