Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees at the University of Illinois has 13 members. The members preside over all three University of Illinois campuses including the Champaign-Urbana,Springfield and Chicago campuses. Three of the members are elected from each of the campuses and serve just one year. These three members are actually students and are elected by referenda on their respective campuses. Eleven of the thirteen members have official voting power and one of these members is one of the students and is selected by the Governor. The governor himself actually serves on the board. The nine remaining members serve a term of 6 years and are also selected by the Governor (Source 1).
Current Members
Current members include Governor Pat Quinn; students Mathew Reschke, Dan Zavorotny and Derek Felix (from the Champaign-Urbana, Chicago and Springfield campuses respectively); and Karen Hasara, Carlos Tortolero, Frances Carroll, Timothy Koritz, James Montgomery, Lawrence Oliver II, Christopher Kennedy, Edward McMillan, and Pamela Strobel (Source 1).
