Campustown
From U of I Wiki
Campustown is the main location for students to have fun and get away from school. The heart of Campustown is Green Street between Fourth and Wright Streets. Because Green Street makes up most of Campustown, students often refer to Campustown as Green Street. In addition to the bars, restaurants, and stores on Green Street, there are also more locations on Fifth and Sixth Streets both North and South of Green. Also, Daniel Street is home to Kam's and C.O. Daniel's bars as well as Silver Mine Subs, Subway, and Espresso Royale. John Street between Fifth and Sixth is also considered a part of campus town, however it is known by students that businesses usually have a lot of trouble in this area. It's location used to be home to Panera Bread, Bar Loui, and currently in 2008, a new restaurant called Fat Sandwich Company has opened hoping it will be able to revive the area.
