Chef

The Chef is a parody of Chief Illiniwek created in 2004 before the retirement of the Chief.
The Chef logo is similar the Chief Illiniwek logo, but the headdress is replaced by a chef's hat. Orange T-shirts were sold bearing the Chef's logo.
The creation of the Chef was not intended to be anti-Chief Illiniwek. Students have proposed it to be the new symbol of the Urbana-Champaign campus's athletics.
