From U of I Wiki
Loomis Laboratory is a university building located on the corner of Green Street and Goodwin Avenue. It was named after Francis Wheeler Loomis and houses the Department of Physics.
Loomis Laboratory contains several research and teaching labs, all in the Department of Physics; other physics labs are in interdisciplinary facilities. Two large lecture halls (141 and 151) are on the west side of the building and are often used for examinations. The lobby around these lecture halls contains several physics-related displays.
