The QuadCam was launched November 7, 2007. After nearly a year in development, QuadCam provides a virtual homecoming to alumni all over the world. Accessible through the Internet, a special camera mounted on the dome of Foellinger Auditorium allows users to zoom, rotate, and pan images of the well-loved campus landmark. To protect the privacy of Quad walkers, the camera has been modified so that it cannot zoom directly into people's faces.

In the case of multiple users at once, the camera's control software queues users, who each get 30 seconds to manipulate the camera. A dialogue box tells the user his place in the queue and counts down the seconds until it is his turn. Users can also see the views of users ahead of them in line. QuadCam is available 24/7.
