Transit Plaza

The Transit Plaza is where most of the campus buses pass through during the day, dropping off and picking up students. Buses that pass through include the 22 Illini, 21 Quad, 26 Pack, 27 Airbus, as well as several off campus buses. Located on Wright St. between Daniel and John, the west side of the plaza is in front of the Illini Union Bookstore and the east side is in front of the Henry Administration Building. This area is possibly one of the busiest and most dangerous areas of campus during the day. On the east side of Wright St. is a main sidewalk which parallels The Quad and also a separate lane for bikers. The actual plaza is situated next to the bike path, such that the bike path is in between the plaza and the main sidewalk. Because of this, many students will mindlessly walk across the bike path without looking, often causing collisions to occur. Also, students often try to run across Wright St. while not in a cross walk which angers the bus drivers.
